Rennes (250000 inhabitants, 450000 with suburbs) is the capital of Brittany, located at about 350 km west from Paris, 70 km south from Channel (and Mont-Saint-Michel) and 100 km north from Atlantic ocean.

How to reach Rennes?

By bike

Rennes is close to 3 EuroVelo roads coming from Ukrain, Romania and Portugal, crossing many countries in Europa: https://en.eurovelo.com/

Environmentally friendly but slightly time consuming!

By car

Please follow your GPS advices.

By train

The fully renovated train station of Rennes is connected via a high speed track to Paris Montparnasse (from 1h25 to 2h00) with at least 1 train per hour during the week, a little bit less on Saturday and Sunday. Please visit the SNCF website for precise schedule: https://www.oui.sncf/

A few direct connections (2h30) per day are also available with Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport (the train station is located under Terminal 2), avoiding complex public transportation through Paris.

Direct connections are also available from Nantes train station (1h15).

By plane

Rennes airport (https://www.rennes.aeroport.fr/en) has daily connections with Paris Charles de Gaulle (Hop!), the main cities in France (Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse,... Hop!),  Amsterdam Schipol (AF-KLM) and London (FlyBe), but also (season dependent) with Barcelona (Vueling), Brussels (AF), Geneva (Easy Jet), Roma (Vueling),...

WARNING: We recently heard in the local press that Rennes airport might be closed in March 2020 for renovation. No further information is currently available from the airport. We will update the website as soon as possible.

Nantes airport has a much wider coverage of Europa by regular and low cost companies (https://www.nantes.aeroport.fr/en/). Then you will need to catch a bus (9€, 30 min.) to the train station and then a train to Rennes (regional trains much less expensive than the TGV to Paris).
